Merry Christmas to everyone from my side of the world. It was a great, long holiday weekend up in northern Michigan.
I finally got to post my quail print. I gave it to my sister as a gift. I framed it with a thicker brushed chocolate frame this time instead of the small black that I usually do.
First I coated a piece of mat board 3 times with gesso. When that dried, I glued some plants I found outside down to it. I drew the quails out onto paper and cut them out, then glued them down too. I then sealed/coated the whole thing with matte medium.
In the print room, I scrape the ink over the board. Then use a tarelton to gently wipe away excess ink on the raised surfaces. Sometimes I run a second color over the raised areas to get a two-toned effect. I run it through the press with damp paper and voila, we have a print....

what did you use to make this print?

Your Quail print is lovely and I do love your mess. It looks just like my studio! I will check back often as I'm diving into collagraph again.
