Golden Koi

"Golden Koi"

I revisited this collagraph to create a glow effect on it.
First, I covered the whole plate with a deep brown.
Next, we created a rainbow roll with bright yellows fading to a reddish brown.
We then rolled this over the top of the brown plate to create the glow.

Very nice. Did you use a wood or metallic matrix? The deep relief implies wood, but the drypoint technique in the depression looks metallic. Offering prints?

I actually used paper! I cut out all the shapes with a good quality letterhead paper. Then glued pieces to a gesso covered mat board. I did some additional carving once it was all glued down, then sealed the whole board with matte medium. Thanks for the input!

I wish I could keep it up. I've been in a creative rut lately. Also my school isn't offering any night classes...
